Michael Jordan’s son doesn’t inherit his father’s basketball cause

Michael Jordan’s son, Jeff, has left the University of Illinois basketball team, saying in a statement that he wanted to focus on his studies.

He said he loved playing for the Fighting Illinois and appreciate the support he was given by teammates, coaches and the great fans here, But he has come to the point where he is ready to focus on life after basketball.

Jordan came to Illinois as a walk-on, but was put on scholarship for the spring semester this year. He played in 59 games over two seasons, scoring 58 points. Only a few months ago, Illini Coach Bruce Weber praised Jordan’s defense and said the 6-foot-1 guard had a chance to earn more playing time next season.
